Humanity Waits

There is a great Event for which all humanity waits, according to Theosophical teachings. It has been called the Reappearance of the Christ or Maitreya, the externalization of the spiritual Hierarchy, and the coming of the Avatar of Synthesis and a lesser Avatar that overshadows. The Appearance of these Great Luminaries, Avatars, and Messengers of God in the world are predicted to release  powerful divine energies on the planet. There will be an adjustment period to these new energies which will create great disruption and soul-searching and do much to question established conventions, institutions, and religious orthodoxy.

In all the religious and esoteric scriptures including Buddhist, Hindu, Persian, Christian, and the Ancient Mysteries, the teachings describe a “Coming One” predicted to appear on our planet. This “Coming One” is depicted as riding on a white horse, coming to the Earth in order to further the manifestation of unity, of oneness and of inter-relation. Little else do we know.

Why are Avatars needed at this time? Avatars appear rarely but when they do, the effectiveness and results of Their work is very great. They bring about death of the old and limiting forms and of that which houses evil. We are witnessing that this “death” has already begun as humanity faces challenges that are reflected in a global crisis that includes climate change, racism, wars and rising economic pressures.

What can we do to prepare? Preparation will require a gradual breaking down of separative and selfish thinking and secondly an emphasis on sharing and cooperation. Our goal should not be to simply survive but to revive the spiritual meaning and purpose of our lives.

We are told in the writings of Alice Bailey that three recognitions must be evidenced by humanity around the year 2025, if the destruction of mankind is to be averted. They are:

  1. Recognition of the Christ/Maitreya spiritual divinity within.
  2. Recognition of the Spiritual Hierarchy.
  3. Recognition of the Divine Plan.

Included in this great transition is the “Restoration of the Mysteries,” and the Reappearance upon Earth of the Mysteries of Initiation and the transformation of our sphere into a Sacred Planet.

As we look at the crises in the world today, some might wonder, have there ever been times worse than this, when selfishness, hatred and violence seem to have the upper hand? Of course there could be, and have been, even more challenging periods, as a study of history verifies.

Are we on the precipice of a Great Spiritual Movement or a Great Cataclysm? I choose to believe that this is a time of great opportunity rather than a time of great cataclysm. A great spiritual movement is under way— perhaps the greatest of all time!

Shamballa Impact

Alice Bailey, in her esoteric writings, described the Shamballa force as a potent, divine energy emanating from the spiritual center of the planet, Shamballa. This energy, governed by the Will of God, is said to influence humanity and the Earth profoundly, particularly during periods of transformation and crisis. 

What makes this time in human history both exciting and concerning are the questions facing every one of us. Will we rise to meet the many enormous challenges? Can we deconstruct our own illusions? Are we willing to participate in the re-creation of a more sustainable and equitable global paradigm? Are we truly willing to change?

The Shamballa force is characterized by three distinct energies: purification, destruction, and organization. These energies pour into our world and work in tandem to facilitate the evolution of consciousness and the establishment of a new world order aligned with divine principles. Can we consciously work with them? 

Purification

The energy of purification is an essential aspect of the Shamballa force. It seeks to cleanse the planet of outdated patterns, stagnation, and impurities that hinder spiritual progress. This energy brings clarity, revealing hidden truths and dispelling illusions that cloud human perception. On a global scale, purification manifests as a collective awakening to higher values, such as inclusivity, justice, and harmony. On an individual level, it inspires inner cleansing, encouraging people to shed egoic tendencies, align with their higher selves, and embrace spiritual ideals. This process can be challenging, as it demands confronting and releasing deeply rooted fears, prejudices, and attachments.

Destruction

The destructive energy of Shamballa may seem harsh, but it is necessary for transformation. This force dismantles structures, systems, and ideologies that are no longer aligned with the greater good. It breaks down what is obsolete or obstructive, paving the way for new growth. Destruction, as Bailey explains, is not chaotic but purposeful, guided by divine will. It ensures that only what is essential and in alignment with higher truth survives. This energy is evident in times of global upheaval, where outdated political, economic, or social systems collapse, often leaving space for more equitable and spiritually attuned structures to emerge.

Organization

The energy of organization completes the triad, bringing order out of chaos. After the processes of purification and destruction, this energy establishes new patterns and structures that resonate with the divine plan. It inspires humanity to organize and rebuild in alignment with higher principles, fostering cooperation, unity, and service. This organizing force strengthens the foundations of a more harmonious and enlightened civilization, embedding values of goodwill and right human relations. On a subtle level, it aligns individual and collective actions with the rhythm of the planetary and cosmic purpose.

Together, these three energies of the Shamballa force—purification, destruction, and organization—serve as powerful agents of evolution. They ensure that humanity and the planet progress in accordance with divine intention, navigating the tension between the old and the new. Today, as Humanity straddles a cliff above an abyss of annihilation, we must each ask ourselves: do we choose the darkness of separated self or the light of wholistic truth?

In Bailey’s vision, the Shamballa force heralds an era of greater spiritual awareness, where humanity steps closer to embodying its higher potential as co-creators of the divine plan. Are we ready?

What will 2025 bring?

Any student of the Alice Bailey teachings learns that the year 2025 is anticipated to be of vital spiritual significance. One of the key assertions is that a once-in-a-century event is scheduled to take place which could shape global events for the next one hundred years. This is the so-called Conclave of Masters. The purpose of the conclave is to review the state of the world and make key decisions about the future direction of humanity. The conclave meets in Shambhala which is said to be found at some undisclosed location in the Himalayas. According to some it no longer exists in physical form but purely on the etheric levels.

Many of us light workers have spent decades in various spiritual groups talking about 2025 speculating that something Divine and Magnificent is coming. Many of the world religions speak of a “Coming One.” However, so much of what has been envisioned in my lifetime now seems to be in jeopardy. For the first time since I can remember, I’m not sure the good guys are going to win, and I can’t tell you how unsettling that is. It’s more than unsettling – it’s terrifying, because it means everything I thought I knew about how the world works might be wrong.

For our encouragement, the promise of hope is predicted astrologically in that the 2025 conclave coincides with the energies of Aquarius, sign of the Water Bearer fostering goodwill and brotherhood. New patterns of living and human relationships are destined to emerge that will lead to a “New Age” which will be utterly different to anything we have known, according to esoteric teaching.

Clearly, the coming period will be one of trial and assessment. We shall all have moments of discouragement, and perhaps none of us will see the world as perfect as we hope it someday will be; nor, in this particular life, will we probably see ourselves as perfect as we would like to be.  But we can work for—and see—many great improvements, both in ourselves and in the world. It’s up to us.
